Es handelt sich um den Tod von Bambis Mutter. Diese einschneidende Trennung (die im Film nicht im Bild gezeigt wird und dennoch oder gerade deshalb nichts von ihrer Dramatik verliert) ist das Herzstück von Bambi, Walt Disneys 1942 entstandenem Zeichentrickfilmklassiker, jedoch beileibe nicht der einzige Schicksalsschlag. In 69 kurzweiligen und dabei angenehm unaufgeregten Minuten, schildert Bambi ein Jahr im Leben eines jungen Rehs.

Auf einer umfassenderen Ebene geht es aber auch um das Leben an sich, um den Zyklus von der Geburt bis zum Tod, von der Freiheit der Kindheit bis zur Verantwortung des Erwachsenenlebens. All das wird dem Zuschauer auf beiläufige Weise in wunderbar leichtfüssigem Stil nähergebracht. Nie wird mit dem erhobenen Zeigefinger pädagogisiert, nie hat man das Gefühl einer Lehrstunde beizuwohnen. Die animierten Zeichnungen sind zauberhaft, ein betörender Wald in dem die Natur als permanent sich regenerierendes Wunder verstanden wird (selbst im Angesicht des Feuers oder in den dunklen Momenten, in denen „der Mensch auf den Plan tritt“). Vermutlich gibt es einfacher darzustellende Tiere als gerade ein junges Reh, und die Disney Zeichner haben sich eine extrem hohe Hürde gesetzt, als sie Bambis taumelnden, über sich selbst stolpernden Gang über einen zugefrorenen See inszenierten.

Aber der Aufwand hat sich gelohnt. Die Sequenz wirkt anmutig und ist voller Charme. Wenn auch Bambi selbst ein wenig ungeschickt erscheint – wohl das Schicksal aller rehartigen Geschöpfe – so machen ihre Freunde, der Hase "Klopfer" und ein Stinktier namens "Blume" diesen Mangel spielend wett. The MK-100 10" 1 1/2HP Tile Saw is an excellant saw for the money. I researched many different brands and sizes of Tile saws. I wanted one that could cut a variety of different types of tile and the ability to diaginaly cut twelve inches. I talked with an MK service rep and he said the MK 100, their newest saw, was basically the same saw as the 101. It does have a different motor and there is no cover over the slide assembly. The MK-100 will cut 12" floor tile in about three seconds. The saw sounds the same as the 101, basically the same machine, just two or three hundred dollars less expensive. The saw comes with a ... I bought this saw about a year and a half ago thinking it would save on rental fees. The table is warped which makes it impossible to get two pieces from one. The weight of the "waste side causes it to drop and snap the tile. Leaving a rather large piece of scrap. Mk said no problem and a new table arrives only to be warped.
